Music Program

Trinity-St. Andrew's has a thriving music program, with Senior and Junior Choirs, a Chime Choir and a brass section for special occasions. Other instruments, from guitars to bongo drums, are welcomed to our musical team to complement the piano and pipe organ.

When surveyed recently about their musical tastes, the congregation of Trinity-St. Andrew’s clearly favoured having a variety of styles of music, and enjoy participating in a range from classical to modern. Special services and events are held regularly which highlight different styles. Celebrate the Saints Sunday in June features “good old hymns”. The 3rd Sunday of each month is designed to be inter-generational; ‘Third Sundays’ bring a more modern sound. ‘Gospel Music Sunday’ in August is led by guitar and piano.

December of 2007 was the occasion for a wonderful children’s musical “A Mouse Christmas”, and a beautiful, traditional candle-lit “Service of Lessons and Carols”.

Senior Choir

Comprised of about 30 singers, the Senior Choir practices on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. for 90 minutes in the church hall. Monthly treat nights help to bring us together as friends. A plan to expand the space in the choir loft means new members are always welcome.

Junior ChoirJunior Choir

For public school aged children, the Junior Choir meets on Thursday afternoons at 3:30 for an hour, in the church hall. Come along and bring a friend. We are learning a number of new songs from More Voices, with the leadership of the Junior Choir.

Chime Ringers

TSA ChimersEnjoy music, but don’t want to sing? Then the chime choir is for you! No musical training is required. Be part of a team to ring out a song using hand chimes. Chimers meet for practice on Wednesday evenings at 7:00, for an hour.

Play an Instrument?

We’re always looking for ways to enliven and vary our services, so let the Music Director know if you would be willing to join in on your guitar, trombone, or other instrument, from time to time.
