How Do I...

Arrange for Someone to Visit Me

The Rev. Ken Lewis is our minister whom you may contact for any pastoral needs, concerns or emergencies. We appreciate your assistance in letting the church office know of any members or adherents (those who consider Trinity-St. Andrew's United Church their church, but who have not officially become members) who are in hospital or ill at home and who would like a pastoral call. The Minister and specially trained lay visitors call on members in nursing and retirement homes regularly. In addition, our associate minister Nadine Mahood, DM, provides regular telephone visits to shut-ins.

Arrange a Wedding

Located in the heart of Brighton, Trinity-St. Andrew’s United Church is beautifully arranged to make your wedding a meaningful visual, musical and spiritual experience.

The historic church has a bright and welcoming sanctuary, with a centre aisle, which you can decorate with ribbon and flowers. The teal-cushioned, oak pews will accommodate as many as 250 guests, although most weddings in the sanctuary have between 50 and 100 guests.

Adding to the setting is the sound of the Lye & Sons 1902 pipe organ. Our historic steeple bells may be rung to announce the happy couple as they depart following their wedding ceremony.

Our church has an inclusive marriage policy, which can also be found in the policy manual.  It states:

1. Settled Ministers and Associate Ministers are encouraged to offer our services to all couples, without discrimination, who seek a Christian wedding.
2. Weddings may be performed in the sanctuary or other venue agreeable to the Minister(s).
3. Music is to be appropriate to the occasion and location, and approved by the Minister(s) and Music Director.
4. Provisions of pre-marital counseling will be determined by the Minister(s).
5. The Minister(s) are not required to officiate at any wedding about which they have professional discomfort.

Our minister will conduct the service, and will meet with you in advance to talk about this new phase in your life and to discuss the details of, what will be, a moving and meaningful ceremony.

Our Church Office staff is at your service. Please make your initial contact with our office administrator to discuss arrangements and fees at 613-4751311 or email: .

Volunteer

Volunteering is a positive and life-enriching experience. Each of us has special talents and skills, and different amounts of time to volunteer. There are many areas in the Church to choose to make a difference.

The Bible teaches that God gives spiritual gifts to all in the body of Christ (Romans 12). We see each part of the body contributing its gifts, talents and abilities to make the whole body of Christ, the church, meaningful. We see people growing and stretching, learning new skills and gaining fulfillment that can’t be measured. Ministry provides an opportunity to invest your time and talent in God’s work. With your help, we can do more.

We encourage you to offer your time and talent upon the firm foundation that is Trinity-St. Andrew’s United Church. There is certainly a call for your enthusiasm.
