Church Council
Trinity-St. Andrew’s Church Council is the governing body of the Congregation and is responsible for providing leadership in the care and oversight of the spiritual life and temporal affairs of the church. Church Council ensures that the Mission of the Church, as stated in the mission statement is fulfilled.
Council members are elected by the Congregation at the annual meeting for a term of three years and have an overall responsibility for the Standing committees as follows:
Worship And Sacraments Committee

The duty of the Worship and Sacraments Committee is to oversee the spiritual interests of the Congregation. Duties of the committee include the following:
- Attending the monthly Worship Committee meeting
- Long-range planning of the church year
- Liaising with the Music Director and Minister regarding special events and services
- Recruiting and organizing lay readers, ushers and greeters
- Preparing the elements for Communion
- Arranging for pulpit and organ supply and special guest speakers
- Working to develop Creative Worship ideas, and “Third Sunday” inter-generational services
- Administering the Memorial Fund and Special Gifts
Pastoral Care And Membership Committee

The Pastoral Care Committee ensures that members and adherents of the church receive appropriate and timely pastoral care. Their responsibilities include:
- Planning and organizing shut-in activities
- Visiting the sick, lonely, shut-ins and recently bereaved
- Visit newcomers and members
- Assisting in the integration of new members
- Preparing information brochures
- Developing and maintaining an inventory of skills, talents
- Maintaining the Congregation Membership Roll
Christian Education Committee

The Christian Education Committee plans and directs Christian education by providing opportunities to know God’s love and to grow in understanding and faith. Committee responsibilities include:
- Planning and developing programs in adult, youth and children’s Christian education
- Providing a nursery program
- Liaising with the Minister for worship services
- Administering the library
- Promoting programs for youth development
- Oversight of the Church School including establishment of curriculum and the appointment of superintendent and teachers
Community Outreach Committee

The Community Outreach Committee promotes volunteer and financial programs through which the Church can serve the needs of others in the community. Committee responsibilities include:
- Co-coordinating and making recommendations regarding appeals made to the church
- Administering and maintaining the Benevolent Fund
- With the Action Team, identifying local needs and developing programs such as After School Club and The Beacon Youth Centre to meet those needs.
- Exploring opportunities to work with other churches and organizations
- Supporting the Clothing Depot
- Promoting the mission of the Church by publicizing its activities both within and beyond the Church through the Church bulletin and local media
- Promoting projects and appeals related to justice, economic, social, educational, and human rights issues and encouraging and providing means by which members of the congregation may translate interest and concern into effective action.
Finance And Administration Committee

The Finance and Administration Committee oversees all financial matters of the congregation including resource planning, budgeting and accounting, and provides administrative guidance to the Council and its Committees.
Property Committee

The Property Committee ensures the care and upkeep of all Church property.
Ministry And Personnel Committee
Email:
The Ministry and Personnel Committee provide a confidential setting for consultation, support and assessment of all staff Human Resources needs.
Fellowship Committee
Email:
The Fellowship Committee promotes fellowship among members of the Church Congregation through the provision of Church-sponsored events, coffee hours, luncheons, dinners, etc.
Stewardship Committee

The Stewardship Committee guides, motivates, and educates the congregation in all its stewardship responsibilities:
- Interpreting the overall stewardship needs of the charge at local, regional, national and international levels.
- Monitoring the proportion of money spent locally and regionally in relation to the amounts provided for the wider work of the church.
- Making stewardship materials available to the congregation
- Promoting pre-authorized remittance (PAR) offerings and subscriptions to the United Church Observer
- Reporting to the Church Council and congregation.
- Maintaining generous and realistic Mission & Service Fund goals in support of the United Church of Canada and its Outreach to Canada and the rest of the world.
